Coaster, Placemat, and Potholder set
Introduction
The instructions are for a matching set of placemats, potholders, and coasters. These can be made in a variety of colors. In fact, I encourage you to mix and match variegated yarns with solid colors for some really nice results.
You will need regular worsted weight four-ply yarns. You can use up scraps or go buy some with a specific color scheme in mind. I’ve found that three skeins of various colors make the entire set with yarn left over.
I used a size G crochet hook for the coaster, and a size I crochet hook for the potholder and placemat. If you want some a bit bigger, use bigger hooks. If you want them smaller, use smaller hooks. These just seemed to be the right size for use.
Only four stitches are used for these: chain stitch (ch), single crochet (sc), half-double crochet (hdc), and double crochet (dc). The actual amount of yarn depends on whether you intend to do stripes of color or just a solid color for it. At most, it would take a skein and a half of yarn if you do it all in one solid color.
